Porchlight was an independent Australian production company making premium cinema and television drama. We worked with local and international partners bringing the best of Australian talent to a worldwide audience.
Our latest production OPERATION BUFFALO a six-part drama written and directed by Peter Duncan (RAKE) will premiere on ABC TV in May 2020 with About Premium Content handling international sales.
The feature film TRUE HISTORY OF THE KELLY GANG directed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed) from a screenplay by Shaun Grant (Snowtown, Jasper Jones) is now streaming on Stan in Australia and will be available on VOD in the US from 24 April. Based on Peter Carey’s literary masterpiece, the cast includes Russell Crowe, George MacKay, Essie Davis and Nicholas Hoult and was produced with the UK’s Daybreak Pictures.
David Michod’s THE KING starring Timothee Chalamet as HenryV was produced in partnership with PlanB Entertainment for Netflix. From a screenplay by David Michod and Joel Edgerton, THE KING also stars Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Robert Pattinson, Ben Mendelsohn and Lily-Rose Depp and is streaming on Netflix now.
Season five of ANIMAL KINGDOM is in production for TNT in the US. The series is based on our internationally acclaimed feature film from writer/director David Michôd and was reformatted for television by Warner Bros and producer John Wells and Jonathan Lisco (ER, The West Wing).
Porchlight Films was established in 1996 by three producers: Vincent Sheehan, Liz Watts and Anita Sheehan. Our distribution arm Jetty Distribution handles the ancillary sales and many of the ongoing rights in our catalogue.
