The Home Song Stories soundtrack album with original score is now available from July 7 - released through ABC Music and Warners Music - available also through ABC Shop online here

Slated for a 23rd of August release in Australia, Tony Ayres' The Home Song Stories continues to generate buzz, with the announcement that the film has been selected to screen in the Contemporary World Cinema program at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in September.

This latest accolade follows the film's international success at the Berlin Film Festival and the rousing response from local audiences at the recent Sydney and Adelaide Film Festivals. It will also screen at next month's Melbourne International Film Festival.

Writer/director Tony Ayres was recently awarded the $15,000 Screenplay Prize at the NSW Premier's Literary Awards for his autobiographical script for The Home Song Stories and also received an AWGIE (Australian Writers Guild) nomination for Original Feature Film.

Richard Payten, joint general manager of Dendy Films congratulated Ayres and producers, Liz Watts and Michael McMahon on the film's latest success; "This really is a truly unique and inspirational film - people are responding passionately to it wherever it is screened. It has a contemporary and personal relevance to so many Australians, but is obviously also resonating warmly with international audiences. Dendy Films is very proud to be releasing The Home Song Stories in cinemas across Australia on August 23."
