As the year's end awards seasons start, THE HOME SONG STORIES has figured prominently in both Australian and overseas nominations.

The film has been nominated for 14 AFI Awards, and most recently nominated for 7 Golden Horse Awards at the 44th Awards in Taiwan. Second only to Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" with 11.

At the IF Awards on the Gold Coast in mid November, the film won 5 IF Awards after being nominated for 9 including Best Film. It won Best Direction, Best Actress Joan Chen, Best Actor Joel Lok, Best Cinematograohy and Best Production Design.

In other news, the film recently won BEST ACTRESS for Joan Chen at the Torino Film Festival in Italy, and BEST FEATURE FILM at the Hawaii International Film Festival, and is AUSTRALIA'S OFFICIAL ENTRY INTO THE FOREIGN OSCAR CATEGORY of the 2008 Academy Awards. The shortlist is announced in January 2008.
